Europe 2018 on the R NineT – Day 16: Athens to Vlorë

Day 15, 13/06/2018. The road out of Greece, back to base towards Germany.

A massive trip from Athens to Vlora in Albania, but it was worth it. Albania, treating me like royalty with its pristine mountains and waterways. Income inequality is massive here, with a very significant gap between the average and the well-off population. I made a mistake of responding to a question by a servo worker about incomes in Australia, and now I feel bad about it.

I should have specifically told him that it’s actually not that easy living in Australia too… but then again, when a pleb with an ordinary job like me can travel like I am right now, I should be grateful that, just by pure luck, I was born into a country like Australia where there is absolutely no excuse for an able-bodied person to not be able to live a respectably comfortable life. You won’t realise what you have until it’s taken off your hands.
