Europe 2018 on the R NineT – Day 22: Stelvio Pass to Zürich via Furka Pass

Day 22, 19/06/2018. Last European Alps run before heading back to base in Germany.

Time is running out for me, and I must head north back to Germany. But I am still stuck here, wondering if I should explore more of the Alps. Wherever you go in this region of Europe, there is always an imposing looking mountain range within clear view, whether you are in the suburbs, the heart of a village or on the highway. Where there is a mountain range, there is also a back road that leads up to it.

Without further ado, I proceeded towards the central mountainous region of Switzerland, home of the renowned Furka Pass. I guess I can just say that it wasn’t too shabby. It was a pretty nice place to visit. Have I become spoilt with too many great roads within a short space of time? With the Transfăgărășan, Stelvio and Großglockner as my newfound benchmark, I think I’ve become a difficult person to impress!
